Guatemala Single Origin specialty coffee. Guatemalan coffee is a type of coffee that has been grown in Guatemala for centuries. It is one of the best coffees in the world and has a distinct flavor. Guatemalan coffee beans are usually exported to other countries where they are roasted and sold as a finished product. Coffee was introduced to Guatemala by the Spanish during the colonial period, but it was not until the end of the nineteenth century that production became more widespread. The first coffee plantations in Guatemala were established by the Germans. Guatemalan coffee beans are usually medium to dark roasted, with a taste of fruit, nuts, chocolate.

Located in the northwest, on the border with Mexico, Huehuetenango has become one of the most famous coffee-growing areas in the country. The most striking features of its landscape are its 37 volcanoes, many of which are still active. These volcanoes are not only attractive for travelers to discover, but also mark the distinct characters that are found in Guatemalan coffees. The height in this area reaches from 300 to 3850 meters, creating a microclimate with ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. Due to the high altitude, these grains develop more slowly than usual, having a higher density, that is, building a very hard core. Along with the higher density comes a complex abundance of citrus and fruity flavors that positions Huehuetenango coffee as one of the best gourmet coffees in the world .
